Wasim Khan is based in Lenexa, Kansas where he has been a leader in the founding of multiple companies – all with an African focus. Wasim has devoted his twenty-five plus years of international, business and cross-cultural expertise to create relationships whose long term positive impact on people in the US and Africa is far reaching. He has extensive experience in business development, project management, customer acquisition & support, events & promotions, cross cultural communication, diversity and inclusion training, cultural proficiency development and enhancement, as well as developing creative ways of building bridges. He is a driver of project deployment on an international level. His recent activities include work with indigenous peoples, immigrants, refugees, small business owners, large corporations and governmental entities, as well as promoting cross cultural communication, multicultural development and advocacy working at the highest levels of international business development. He specializes in development work focusing on renewable energy, water, agriculture & food security, affordable housing, and technology – working with governments, communities, non-Profits and corporations to drive development, quality of life and economic growth.
Wasim is viewed as a community leader in the US and his home country of Kenya. He views this role as one of great importance in building relationships, creating business opportunities, and in addressing social justice issues. Wasim often serves as a consultant in business matters, especially when doing business with Africa and US organizations want to do business in Africa.
Wasim is a frequent speaker and trainer for governmental organizations, educational institutions, corporations, and Non-Profit organizations as well as small businesses. He serves on several boards including the Hot Sun Foundation in Kenya, Entrepreneur Innovation Center at Kansas City Kansas Community College, and the Sister Cities Association of Kansas City. He lives in Lenexa, Kansas, travels the world extensively with his family and helps others access travel opportunities.
